Just Outside Paris

I live just outside Los Angeles. But I'm tired of riding around LA. The other night I figured out a way to remedy the situation. I imagine that I'm riding around Paris. Suddenly everything I see, the streets, lights, cars, people, buildings - all are new to me. And my mind opens up at bit, releases from its rut. Ceci n'est pas Les Anges...

And there are beautiful women who ride their bike in Paris!
(Do you remember that speaker/author, using that as a reason to ride?)

I have only biked around LA once. We rode from the pier at Santa Monica to the Airport and back. It's one of my highlight rides.

Way, waaaay late comment, but I have to pipe up because I do something similar when I'm on a train (usually the train down to San Diego). I pretend that I'm somewhere in Eastern Europe and I don't speak the language, I pop in my headphones and look at the scenery rolling by and when the conductor asks for my ticket, I just smile & nod my head like I would do over there. It's silly mais ça m'amuse bien.

Thanks, SuperLarge! Let's take the train sometime... or sit in a pub and pretend.
